Windsor Vacations

Located just across the river from Detroit, Michigan, Windsor is Canada’s southernmost city and quite often the envy of most sun- starved Canadians! The climate makes Windsor a great place to vacation if you want to spend time outdoors.

Park City
Windsor Windsor has over 154 parks making it ideal for outdoor activities. There is a park for everybody, no matter what your particular interest: parks with beautiful flower gardens, parks with splendid scenic walking paths and even parks displaying sculpture gardens.

Art and History.
While vacationing in Windsor you may want to visit the Art Gallery of Windsor or take a tour of Willistead Manor, one of Windsor’s Historic Homes. You may also want to visit the Windsor Community Museum and see what Windsor’s talented local artists are creating these days.

A toss of the dice
Windsor vacations probably wouldn’t be complete without at least a small peek into the sprawling casino of Windsor. The casino has over 3,300 slot machines and 80 games tables. There are also some great restaurants located in the casino including The Terrace Café, a 24 hour all-purpose sit down café, and the lovely and posh, Riverside Grille which is located right next to the lobby of the Casino Hotel and is completely removed from the action of the casino. This restaurant offers a lovely view of the river and the Detroit skyline. If you are visiting Windsor from Detroit or from elsewhere in the States, keep in mind that if you stay for 48 hours you are permitted to bring home $200 worth of goods without paying duty.

Don’t forget to give yourself a carefree vacation by purchasing Travel Insurance before you leave home.
