Banff Vacations
Beautiful Banff in Alberta offers visitors a unique assortment of both
sightseeing and leisure activities. Banff is the highest city in Canada
at an elevation of close to five thousand feet, making it the ideal location
for skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
Banff town.
Banff is a small and compact town filled with great restaurants, bars
and stores. Accommodations are plentiful. One of the best hotels in the
world is located in Banff, the Banff Springs Hotel. Even if you
don’t stay there, it’s worth a trip just to walk around the
grounds and have a coffee in their café. It is easy to walk everywhere
when you are in Banff but you can also take taxis and buses. The Banff
Information Center is located right in the middle of town and is a
very helpful resource center for planning your trip.
What to do
Take a hike! There are over 1,600 km of hiking trails in Banff, so it
shouldn’t be too hard to take a different trail every day while
you are here. When you need a break from all that walking, take the Sulphur
Mountain Gondola all the way to the top of Sulphur Mountain and enjoy
the breathtaking view of Banff. Your Banff vacations would not be complete
without a visit to the Colombia Icefield which is the largest glacial
field in the Northern Hemisphere. If you need to get warmed up after your
visit on the ice, why not head over to the Cave and Basin Hot Springs
and enjoy the heat of the natural hot springs? For even more pampering,
go to Solace and treat yourself to a day at a spa located in one of the
most spectacular settings anywhere. If you like your wildlife a little
less wild, visit the Banff Park Museum with its stuffed wildlife
exhibitions.
Last but not least, do make sure to protect yourself and your vacation
investment in Banff by buying travel insurance before you leave home.
